A Stranger Things Adventure.

Well here we have it. This Adventure was spread across 3 different days. So Day#1 We land at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Air Port. We have some time before we check in so we get our rental car and make our way a little Northeast to Stone Mountain Georgia. You see Stone Mountain is where they filmed the Railroad tracks Scenes and Also Majority of the Forest/Woods scenes. I do not fine an exact spot on the tracks but it has to be close as I cannot imagine film crews would want to lug all that equipment long distances. These Railroad tracks are actually part of a Ride located at Stone Mountain Park

Stone Mountain Park does have a parking fee however honestly is well worth it as There is plenty to do in the park. You could plan to spend the whole day there as well.

The Tracks are part of a train ride that goes around Stone Mountain

My video is not in chronological order of how it was filmed (I even had to purchase a new camera as I got dust in my lens and could not get it cleaned out :(

Next stop the following day was the Infamous Hawkins Laboratory. The laboratory is located at the Emory University Briarcliff Campus. When driving onto the property there is a gate however it is automated and seems to need no credentials as it just opened for us as we approached on both entry and exit.

The building has definitely seen better days But looks identical as it did in the show

Two stops in two days. Not making very much progress however Day 3 would be the true adventure. Starting with Day #3 we made our way to our first stop.

Located in Stockbridge Georgia is the Hawkins middle and High Schools

The Middle school and the Highschool are both located on the same property.

As I was walking around the property I was asked nicely to please stay up at the gymnasium portion of the school. I was advised that they do not like when people are on property as it is still a functioning District

Next we jumped back in are car to make our way to Jackson. This is roughly a 45 Minute Drive from the schools. Jackson is the setting for downtown Hawkins and There is plenty to see there. Stranger Things aside this is an awesome town square. Loved the layout and the Hometown feel of it.

Much of the square looks the same as it did in the show. Even down to the Radio-shack sign. The store even had a sign that said stranger things shirts sold here. Way to embrace us location seekers.

Here there are some slight differences but I feel the biggest difference is the theater. Still recognizable but not without looking closely.

Directly behind the Theater is the alley where the infamous fight between Johnathon and Steve took place. The alley itself is very recognizable the only big difference as it seemed was all of the trash that was there.

Unfortunately I believe a small animal had come to its demise because the Alley was not very pleasant smelling.

In the Center of the Town square was what was used as the Exterior shots of the town Library.

On our way to the next stop was a quick pit stop to visit the Homestead of our favorite characters. Many of the homes were located all on the Same street. Both Dustin and Barbs houses were very close. As well as the Sinclairs and The Wheelers homes. I did not spend a lot of time at these locations as there are private residences and did not want to bother the Home Owners. Pictured you can see the Sinclairs home from inside the car

The next stop was probably my favorite amoung all of them. In Douglasville is the Palace Arcade. Still painted the same way from the show.

The Inside of the building is empty but I can picture it fille with Arcade Machines

Still painted the Same as in the show. I think this was my favorite stop. The only thing missing was the sign labeling the building.

A very short trip up the road is where the Police station is. When I was there they were doing a complete renovation and the building itself looked very different. However the shape of the building gives it away

Our second to last stop on our journey is the scene where the van gets flipped as it is chasing the kids on there bicycles. Man these kids get around.

And the final Destination for me was the Star-court Mall. Star-court Mall is the Real life Gwinnett place mall. There was not much to see here as a large section of the mall is walled off with security. Along with that and the fact that there are only a few functioning stores makes this place a very eerie stop.

And that Concludes My Stranger things adventure. I hope you had as much fun following my journey as I had during it. This is a great little road trip for any Stranger Things fan that is in the Atlanta area. Thanks for joining me. Don't forget to Subscribe on YouTube as well as follow on both here and Instagram.
